Position Description: The College Success Coach is responsible to promote pathways into college or skills training for students. The coach will and through supporting members of a Succeed cohort and facilitating the day-to-day operations of student services provided by the College Hub team.
This position is grant funded, and will renew each year upon funding.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support to prospective and current college students through short-term college coaching and planning through the Succeed program.

  • Assists with financial aid applications (FAFSA and TASFA)

  • Provides individualized support to students as they navigate college admissions, enrollment, and registration

  • Coordinates access to support services to help students overcome barriers

  • Provides case management to a cohort of Succeed students

  • Communicates with school counselors, partners, and students

  • Makes referrals to FC CHI and other housing programs, Prosper Centers Services participate in community programing relevant to the student's success.

  • Maintains accurate data records

  • Follows up and calls perspective clients and returning students to schedule appointments

  • Completes accurate and timely data collection and entry

  • Conducts presentations and completes outreach visits to provide information to prospective students, area schools, and community partners as assigned

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • One-year of experience working in an educational environment providing direct student services (such as academic advising, financial aid, GearUp, multicultural services, or workforce education), or one-year experience in an agency or school setting managing a client caseload

  • Strong communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal)

  • Strong interpersonal skills; an inclusive student-centered philosophy of providing services and resources

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

  • Proficiency using standard office computer programs and databases

  • Ability to work in a team while also handling individual day-to-day responsibilities independently

Compensation and Benefits:

$24.00/hourly
