This March the Foundation took 4th and 5th grade students on our inaugural Spring Break Camp. During this three-day, two-night overnight camping trip, children went kayaking, built and cooked on campfires, learned about astronomy and stargazed, built their teamwork skills on challenge courses, and had an amazing time!
For many children, this was their first overnight camp experience, and they made memories that will last a lifetime. 100 percent of children liked coming to the Spring Break Camp and would like to come back next year. 100 percent of the children attending learned something new, and 100 percent tried something new.
When asked about the camp, Amina, a 4th grader, said, “I’ve never done any of this stuff before in my life. I was scared at first to go camping but now that I’m here, I want to try everything!”
Destiny, a 5th grader, added: “My least favorite part of camp was having to leave!”
