AUSTIN, Texas – December 1, 2016 – Today the Andy Roddick Foundation Founder and Chair Andy Roddick and Chief Executive Officer Richard Tagle issued the following statement regarding options presented to the Austin Independent School District's Facilities and Bond Planning Advisory Committee for potential inclusion in the district's 20-year Facility Master Plan.
"We commend the Austin Independent School District (AISD) for thinking about how and where its schools should be to best meet the needs of the students and families it serves in the coming years. We are pleased the process gives the community a strong voice and requires the approval of the district's planning committee, which will ultimately recommend a facilities plan to the school board next March.
"At the Andy Roddick Foundation, our main focus is on the children and families we serve, and how we can serve them better and serve them well. We meet children where they are -- no matter Zip code or school -- with high quality learning and enrichment experiences outside the classroom.
"We also remain committed to having a strong partnership with AISD as part of our mission to work with the community to expand opportunities for young people to learn, thrive and succeed."
